The opening minutes of *Game of Thrones* prequel *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* ended in s---...literally, but that's the point, according to series co-creator Ira Parker.

In the premiere episode, which aired on HBO and streamed on HBO Max Sunday night, squire Dunk (Peter Claffey) decides to pick up the sword and armor of the late hedge knight he served for years. The iconic *Game of Thrones* theme music begins to play as the camera closes in on Dunk's face, but then we immediately cut to a shot of him taking a dump behind a tree.

"A lot of people are gonna take it the wrong way," Parker tells **. "It was never meant as a cheap gag to just show a butt that's [pooping] on television, that we really are trying to get into as fully as possible Dunk's headspace, which is so interior in the novellas that we have to find creative ways to get out there, whether it's Dunk talking to the horses, whether it's in conversations with Egg [Dexter Sol Ansell], or whether it's seeing Dunk's nerves manifest themselves physically as they do here in that way."**

Claffey stars as Dunk, who travels to the Ashford tourney in the hopes of winning some coin as a knight. He comes across a young, bald, quick-witted boy named Egg who wants to squire for him. These events take place several decades after the events of HBO's other *Game of Thrones* prequel, *House of the Dragon*, and well before the events of the flagship TV series.

"Like so many of us, when we have those feelings of greatness that call to something else and it's going to be really difficult and challenging, we are soon then hit with the reality of doing that," Parker explains. "The dream falls away and we get butterflies in our stomach, that feeling of nervousness, which Dunk then finds himself very quickly in an unheroic, crouched position."

The *Game of Thrones* theme is "the ultimate hero music," he continues. "That's the ultimate call. That's what he aspires towards. But he's not that yet. He's not the hero. He's not capable of that yet, and he knows that inside of himself. So that's why his body reacts the way that it does."

In a separate interview with *The Hollywood Reporter*, author and HBO's *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* co-creator George R. R. Martin shared his reaction to the moment.

"Yeah, that was a bit of a surprise...Not to say that my characters don't take s---s, but I normally don't write about them at any length," he said. "When I saw the rough cut, I wrote, 'What is this? Where did this come from? I don't know if we really need the s---.' But [Parker] liked it for whatever reason."

This won't be the last unheroic moment we get from Dunk in the six-episode first season. New episodes of *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms* arrive every Sunday night on HBO and HBO Max.

- Universal Orlando to close its Fast & Furious: Supercharged ride in the near future.

- Universal Studios Florida will then open the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift spinning roller coaster.

- The new coaster will replace the old Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster, and travel 170 feet in the air with cars that spin.

When one *Fast & Furious* family falls, another rises in its place — sometimes to heights of 170 feet in the air, as is the case with a new roller coaster heading to Florida's Universal Orlando Resort.

Following the closure of its 26-year-old Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster in 2025, Universal Studios Florida revealed Tuesday the beloved attraction's highly anticipated replacement: Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a new spinning roller coaster themed to the blockbuster *Fast & Furious* movie franchise starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, and more.

The new roller coaster — which shares its name with a similar coaster set to open at Universal Studios Hollywood later this year — will feature cars themed to automobiles that spin 360 degrees along the course. The track includes various elements, but most notably a 170-foot vertical spike that extends out toward the Universal CityWalk retail and dining sector outside park.

To make way for the new roller coaster, the Orlando park's existing *Fast & Furious* ride, titled Fast & Furious: Supercharged, will close in 2027, ending its nine-season run at the park.

First opened in 2018, Supercharged takes riders on a screen-based journey through an original story in the *Fast* franchise, with guests boarding buses to join a celebration at Sullivan's garage, only to be pursued by the FBI and Owen Shaw (played by Luke Evans in the film series).

While Universal Orlando's Supercharged opened as a stand-alone ride, Universal Studios Hollywood operated a similar attraction as a smaller segment on its storied Studio Tour tram ride. Though the tram attraction still operates, the *Fast & Furious*-themed portion closed in 2025 as construction ramped up on the Hollywood park's Fast & Furious roller coaster.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will open as the latest in a growing line of roller coasters themed to major intellectual properties at the Universal Orlando Resort. In 2021, the resort's Islands of Adventure theme park opened the VelociCoaster set in the *Jurassic World *universe, complete with new queue-area scenes starring film actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.**

Islands of Adventure also operates two roller coasters themed to the *Harry Potter *franchise — Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Flight of the Hippogriff — while Universal Studios Florida boasts an additional *Harry Potter* coaster (Escape from Gringotts), an indoor launched coaster inspired by Brendan Fraser's *The Mummy* films, and the Trollercoaster, a mild children's coaster based on the animated *Trolls* series.

The resort's newest park, Epic Universe, opened in 2025 with roller coasters set in the worlds of the *Donkey Kong *video games, the *How to Train Your Dragon *cinematic universe, the realm of classic Universal monsters, and the celestial-themed Stardust Racers multi-launch coaster.

All is not well in the world of *Queer Eye* — again. But alum Bobby Berk seems to be doing just fine.

The lifestyle makeover reality reboot's original design guru appeared to give a cheeky social media nod at the drama firestorm currently raging around the other members of the Fab 5 on Wednesday, when he shared a picture of himself cheesing for the camera in a *Queer Eye *season 6 promo with the caption, "How's everyone's week going?!"

Berk then asked his 2.6 million Instagram followers if they've "seen my new show *Junk or Jackpot*?!" before tagging the series' network, HGTV, and streaming homes, HBO Max, and Discovery+.**

Fans instantly made the connection to Tuesday's *Queer Eye *drama in the comments that flooded the post.

"Bobby out here using the drama algorithm," read one, while another asked, "Just out here minding your own business with your new show, huh?"

*Queer Eye* launched its 10th and final season Wednesday. Though the series has been a hit for Netflix and made stars of its cast, rumors of tension, conflict, and discord have followed the cast.

Most recently, culture guru Karamo Brown was a notable no-show for a series of press engagements on Tuesday, meant to promote the forthcoming season premiere. Brown shared a statement explaining his absence with *CBS Mornings *and *Today *as the remaining members of the cast — Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, and new design expert Jeremiah Brent — appeared without him.

"I hope everyone remembers the main theme I have tried to teach them over the past decade, which is to focus on and to protect their mental health/peace from people or a world who seek to destroy it; which is why I can't be there today," Brown's statement read.**

Cohost Gayle King also noted that Brown's assistant said he was "worried about being bullied."

His former castmates all remarked on the statement and his absence on *CBS Mornings*, with Porowski saying, "Our *Queer Eye* family, we've been doing this for almost a decade...and families are complicated, and we're definitely not excluded from that."

Van Ness added that Brown "has taught people to center what they need, and I'm actually really proud of him. Center what you need, do the things you need to do to take care of you — I'd be lying if I didn't feel like that sometimes."**

*Modern Family* made America laugh for over a decade. But there was a whole other comedy occurring behind the scenes.

Stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, who played married couple Mitchell Pritchett and Cameron Tucker on all 11 seasons of the sitcom, recently reunited for a conversation on the Jan. 13 episode of Ferguson's Dinner's on Me podcast. They regaled each other with hilarious stories from the set of the ABC series, but agreed that one behind-the-scenes moment took the title of "greatest moment ever."

"I always think about, when you're talking about being in the makeup trailer and putting the Fizbo makeup on," Ferguson said, referring to Stonestreet's character's clown alter ego, "that time in the makeup trailer, and just like having time with the cast..."

Stonestreet cut in on the reminiscence to add, "Craft service, Jeff Greenberg walking into the glass that day. It's the greatest moment ever."

Casting Director Jeff Greenberg attends the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Day 1 at the Microsoft Theater on September 10, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

Ferguson dissolved into giggles as the memory came back. "I can't believe that happened," he exclaimed. "He just walked right toward us," Stonestreet joked.

Ferguson then explained the forces that had to converge to lead the series' casting director, Jeff Greenberg, to walk directly into a glass wall in front of the whole cast and crew.

"Normally on set, the craft service area is like a table in the corner. Because we were a 'hit,'" Ferguson shared, "they built this tiny little glass box in the middle of the stage. It was like a little kitchen and that's where they put all the food, and they had the coffee machine."**

One day the whole cast was inside the glass box having breakfast, when as Ferguson recalled, the show's "brilliant casting director came strutting across the way, walking towards us, and face planted into the glass."

Then Stonestreet erupted in laughter, adding, "And we watched it coming from a mile away, and didn't do anything about it!" The actor behind the Emmy-winning Cameron Tucker noted that when Greenberg walked away, "his face print was still on the glass. So we blue taped his face print, and it just lived in memoriam for months.

The pair agreed that, as Stonestreet put it, "No better person could have walked into that glass in that moment than Jeff."

*Modern Family*'s convivial and humorous behind-the-scenes atmosphere clearly bled over into the frame, as the sitcom enjoyed tremendous success across its series run, racking up 22 Emmy awards, including two Primetime Emmys for Stonestreet and one Creative Arts Emmy for Greenberg.

You can listen to the rest of Stonestreet's interview on *Dinner's On Me *above.
