Denver Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb is scheduled for a second interview for the Las Vegas Raiders' head coach opening, while the Buffalo Bills also are showing interest for their vacancy, ESPN reported Sunday.

While the Broncos' run to the AFC Championship Game has raised Webb's profile, the extended playoff run has complicated his interview availability.

Webb already met with the Raiders earlier this month making him eligible to talk to the team again this week whether the Broncos advance to the Super Bowl or not.

The Bills will not be able to interview Webb until after the Broncos' season ends because Buffalo did not sever ties with head coach Sean McDermott until earlier this month when the team was eliminated in the divisional round.

Webb, 31, has been on the Broncos' coaching staff since 2023 after spending time as a quarterback in the Bills, New York Giants and New York Jets organizations. He appeared in one game for the Bills in 2021 and had one start for the Giants in 2022.

Webb also played quarterback at Texas Tech (2013-15) and Cal (2016) before he was a third-round draft pick by the Giants in 2017.

The legendary basketball coach suffered a "mild stroke" in November 2024 and was hospitalized again five months later

The San Antonio Spurs announced in May 2025 that Popovich would become the team's president of basketball operations

Gregg Popovich was honored with a standing ovation during a rare public appearance at an NBA game.

On Friday, Jan. 23, the former San Antonio Spurs coach, 76, visited the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, Texas, to show his support for the Austin Spurs as they faced off against the Capital City Go-Go in a G League game, as seen in a video shared on social media.

As the Hall of Fame coach made his way across the court with his cane in hand, fans got out of their seats to cheer and applaud him.

The rare public appearance comes almost a year after he was hospitalized after reportedly fainting at a restaurant.

On April 15, 2025, Popovich was rushed to the hospital after officials received a call about a person who had "fainted" during dinner, TMZ Sports reported at the time. Footage from the day showed the football legend being placed in the back of an ambulance outside of a steakhouse in San Antonio.

Officials told the outlet that the patient was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries or illness.

Just a few weeks later, the San Antonio Spurs announced on social media that the NBA's all-time winningest coach would be transitioning from the bench to a new role as the team's president of basketball operations.

"While my love and passion for the game remain, I've decided it's time to step away as head coach," Popovich said in a May 2 statement. "I'm forever grateful to the wonderful players, coaches, staff and fans who allowed me to serve them as the Spurs head coach and am excited for the opportunity to continue to support the organization, community and city that are so meaningful to me."

Popovich, who won five NBA titles with the Spurs, was last seen in public at a press conference in May, while introducing Mitch Johnson as the team's new head coach.

Months before the change in role, the San Antonio Spurs revealed that Popovich suffered a "mild stroke" in November 2024.

"The episode occurred on Nov. 2 at the Frost Bank Center," the team wrote on social media. "Popovich, who has already started a rehabilitation program, is expected to make a full recovery."

The following month, Popovich took a moment to thank everyone for their "outpouring of support" throughout his recovery.

"This has certainly been an unexpected six weeks for my family and me," he wrote on X on Dec. 16, 2024. "While I wish I could get back to each one of you, for now, let me say that my family and I are forever grateful. We're thankful for our wonderful community, the entire Spurs organization, and our family and friends."

The NBA acted swiftly Saturday, canceling a game between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves in Minnesota following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Veterans Affairs nurse Alex Pretti by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Before the rescheduled game on Sunday, the Timberwolves held a moment of silence for Pretti.

A few athletes — along with some Minnesota-based sports teams — came out Sunday with statements addressing Pretti's death.

Of that group, Unrivaled co-founder and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton issued the most declarative statements on the topic.

Haliburton tweeted that Pretti was murdered.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch issued a statement Sunday ahead of the team's rescheduled game with the Warriors. Finch said the organization was "heartbroken for what we are having to witness and endure and watch."

Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who has spoken up often about gun violence in the United States, among other issues, said, "In times like these, you have to lean on values and who you are and who you want to be — either as an individual or as a country."

The National Basketball Players Association — the players' union — issued a statement Sunday defending "the right to freedom of speech" and the desire to "stand in solidarity with the people in Minnesota."

The full statement read:

"Following the news of yet another fatal shooting in Minneapolis, a city that has been on the forefront of the fight against injustices, NBA players can no longer remain silent.

"Now more than ever, we must defend the right to freedom of speech and stand in solidarity with the people in Minnesota protesting and risking their lives to demand justice.

"The fraternity of NBA players, like the United States itself, is a community enriched by its global citizens, and we refuse to let the flames of division threaten the civil liberties that are meant to protect us all.

"The NBPA and its members extend our deepest condolences to the families of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, just as our thoughts remain focused on the safety and well-being of all members of our community."

They weren't the only group to issue a statement. On Sunday, CEOs from various companies in Minnesota — including the Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves, Minnesota Lynx, Minnesota United FC and the Minnesota Wild — issued a lengthy statement calling for "an immediate deescalation of tensions."

The full statement read:

"The business community in Minnesota prides itself in providing leadership and solving problems to ensure a strong and vibrant state. The recent challenges facing our state have created widespread disruption and tragic loss of life. For the past several weeks, representatives of Minnesota's business community have been working every day behind the scenes with federal, state and local officials to advance real solutions. These efforts have included close communication with the Governor, the White House the Vice President and local mayors. There are ways for us to come together to foster progress.

"With yesterday's tragic news, we are calling for an immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions.

"We have been working for generations to build a strong and vibrant state here in Minnesota and will do so in the months and years ahead with equal and even greater commitment. In this difficult moment for our community, we call for peace and focused cooperation among local, state and federal leaders to achieve a swift and durable solution that enables families, businesses, our employees, and communities across Minnesota to resume our work to build a bright and prosperous future."

The Minnesota Twins were not included in the statement, though two of the team's players, pitchers Bailey Ober and Simeon Woods Richardson, sent out posts showing protests that occurred across the state over the weekend.

Fans at a PWHL game between the Minnesota Frost and Boston Fleet made their voices heard, chanting "ICE out now!"

Atlanta Braves pitcher Spencer Strider sent out an image of the Boston Massacre, in which British soldiers shot into a crowd of Americans, wounding many and killing five.

The event played a major role in changing U.S. sentiment against King George III.

Hours before taking the field as a captain Sunday, Denver Broncos offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz put up a post on Instagram about Saturday's shooting.

On Saturday, NBA analyst Charles Barkley called for those in power to step up and "be adults." He added, "two people have died for no reason."

In addition to Pretti, ICE agents also fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Good in January. The Timberwolves held a moment of silence for Good shortly after her death.

ICE agents were originally dispatched to Minneapolis and St. Paul in early December in an operation organized by President Donald Trump's administration. The operation — which is aimed at apprehending and deporting undocumented immigrants — has spread across the entire state of Minnesota. Local residents have rallied to protest the operation, with thousands taking to the streets to let their voices be heard over the weekend.

Heard and Depp were involved in a contentious legal battle after their divorce, with both facing allegations of abuse

Amber Heard makes rare comments about her legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp in a new documentary.

The actress, 39, is featured in Silenced, which centers around the weaponization of defamation laws against abuse survivors.

In the film, which screened at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on Saturday, Jan. 24, Heard speaks with director Selina Miles about the aftermath of the highly-publicized defamation cases she and Depp, 62, faced.

"This is not about me," Heard says in the documentary, per Variety. "I have lost my ability to speak. I am not here to tell my story. I don't want to tell my story. In fact, I don't want to use my voice anymore. That's the problem."

International human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson, who worked with Heard when Depp filed a lawsuit against British newspaper The Sun, also participated in the documentary.

Commenting on The Sun trial, Heard says, "I remember at the close of the trial, the idea that I could say something to the press came up. [Robinson] asked if I was sure about that. [I thought], 'If they throw things at me, it will make this point more obvious.' I didn't understand it could get so much worse for me as a woman, using my voice."

Silenced, according to the Sundance Film Festival website, also tells the story of "Catalina Ruiz-Navarro's fight for press freedom in Colombia," as well as "Brittany Higgins' struggle within Australia's political establishment."

"When women speak out, powerful systems move to discredit and punish them," a description for the documentary states.

Heard says in Silenced that she feels inspired by those who speak out.

"It gives me strength seeing other people take on the fight. Women brave enough to address the imbalance of power," she states. "Looking at my daughter's face as she grows up and slowly starts to walk into this world … I believe it can be better."

Heard is a mom to three young kids — twins, Ocean and Agnes, and daughter Oonagh Paige.

When Heard and Depp split in 2016, the actress cited irreconcilable differences in a petition for divorce, and she filed a temporary restraining order against Depp amid allegations of domestic violence.

Depp and Heard reached a $7 million divorce settlement that August, but in March 2019, Depp sued his ex-wife for defamation over a 2018 op-ed she penned for The Washington Post.

In November 2020, Depp lost his lawsuit case against The Sun for calling him a "wife-beater." The court upheld the outlet's claims as being "substantially true," and Heard testified to back up the claims. In March 2021, Depp's attempt to overturn the decision was overruled.

Court proceedings for Depp's defamation trial then began over a year later in April 2022. Both he and Heard made allegations of physical, emotional and mental abuse against each other.

A verdict was reached after a controversial six-week trial. It found Heard liable on all three counts of defamation in relation to her 2018 op-ed, and she was ordered to pay $10.35 million in damages.

Depp, meanwhile, was instructed to pay $2 million, since Heard won one of the three claims in her countersuit.

Both Depp and Heard made appeals but agreed on a settlement that Heard would pay Depp $1 million, which he'd donate to several different charities.
